Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
The short version
- No accounts. Children never sign up, log in, or share a name or email.
- No ads. The game shows no advertising and no third-party ad trackers.
- No student data leaves the device. Nicknames, stars, scores, and quiz results are stored only in the browser on the device being used.
- Nothing to delete. Because we never receive student data, there is nothing stored on our servers to request, correct, or delete.
What the game stores, and where
The Verb is the Word saves game progress — an optional nickname, earned stars, session scores, and quiz results — using your browser's local storage. This information never leaves the device: it is not sent to us, and we have no server that receives it. Clearing the browser's site data erases it completely.
What we collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personal information from children or teachers. Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard, anonymous visit statistics (such as which pages were opened and the type of device used). These statistics cannot identify a child and are never linked to game activity.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
The game is designed for children ages 3–8 and is safe for classroom use under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act: it collects no personal information from children, requires no registration, and displays no behavioral advertising.
Schools and districts (FERPA)
Because no student data is transmitted to or stored by us, using the game creates no student records on our systems. Teachers can project the game for the whole class without any student ever touching a login.
